There is much talk of Electronic Medical Messaging at the moment bringing many questions to the surface.
The Divisions of General Practice will undoubtedly end up with these questions in front of them.
The aim of this web page is to help answer those questions.

Medical-Objects have been delivering Specialist letters and GP referrals for over 4 years. At last count we had delivered 894 000 messages to doctors and allied health.
Medical-Objects delivers not only Specialist letters and GP referrals but QHPS - Qld Health Pathology, private pathology, x-ray reports and allied health letters.It also has the capability to deliver discharge summaries.
Medical-Objects has been extensively trialled in-house and by the clients using the software each day.
Being able to both send and receive patient data electronically  via a robust system gives the doctor confidence and piece of mind.

Medical-Objects were involved in an "Interoperability" demonstration at the Health Informatics Conference 2005 in Sydney last year. We successfully interoperated with several local and international software companies, exhibiting Medical-Objects vision for the future.
We are involved in the use and development of HL7 and were the first company in Australia to be accredited by the Australian Healthcare Messaging Laboratory in Victoria.

Medical-Objects is involved in the Eastern Goldfields Regional Reference Site in WA. It is a project of DoHA .  While the number of users may not be large, 50 GPs and 3 Specialists, the area covered is 1/3 of Western Australia. It has been a true test of our software. An independent evaluation is due out within months.

Our experience with Medical-Objects has been that doctors like to trial the Medical-Objects software to first get a 'feel' for it, and Medical-Objects is happy to help out.

Many Divisions using Medical-Objects initially set up a few doctors and sent messages to test the system. It's easier to answer questions if you've had hands on experience yourself.

2. Contact a Specialist you wish to communicate with.*
3. Have all practices fill out the 'Download Service Request Form'.
4. Fax through the form to us on 07 3221 0220
5. We will contact you within 24hrs with the Registration Token. You can either install Medical-Objects yourself  from our website or we can assist you with set up over the phone.

You are then ready to start receiving reports.

To send referrals you'll need an individual PKI token. Then simply download the software from our website - at the click of a button (no registration token required).
